"Snipe Canadian Championship/Ontario Open"

I am pleased to announce that this years Snipe Canadian Championship/Ontario Open will be held at the Royal Hamilton Yacht Club on Hamilton Harbour on July 4-5, 2009. RHYC is a fabulous sailing club that is centrally located for all Canadian, District 1 and District 3 Snipe sailors. Hamilton Harbour is an ideal body of water for Snipe racing and offers the most consistent conditions in the Golden Horseshoe. I have been racing Starboats there for a while and love sailing in Hamilton. The race course is generally close to the club and launching facilities are top notch. The club has first class creature comforts, lots of room for rigging/parking and a warm and friendly clubhouse/bar. We hope to maintain many of the traditions established at Guelph Lake such as the Saturday Night Steak Dinner followed by a concert by the "Hoofbeats", free Wellington County beer and great racing all done at a reasonable price. PS - Fleet 877 Guelph Lake along with SCIRA Canada is also submitting a bid to host the 2010 Western Hemisphere and Orient Championships at RHYC so this is an opportunity to check out the venue in advance of this international regatta.
