All Good Things Must Come to An End.
posted 04/01/07

Due to many lurkers and no commentators I'm closing this blog. It's no fun to sit alone
in front of a flickering computer screen with only a bottle of sake as my pal. I need
to get out in the world, maybe go to a play or a musical. I hear that Cats is making a
comeback. So as they say in ole Mexico, "Vaya con Dios," or as Roy used to say,
"Happy Trails."

Happy trails to you, until we meet again.
Happy trails to you, keep smilin' until then.
Who cares about the clouds when we're together?
Just sing a song and bring the sunny weather.
Happy trails to you, 'till we meet again.

Some trails are happy ones,
Others are blue.
It's the way you ride the trail that counts,
Here's a happy one for you.

Happy trails to you, until we meet again.
Happy trails to you, keep smilin' until then.
Who cares about the clouds when we're together?
Just sing a song and bring the sunny weather.

Happy trails to you, 'till we meet again.

See ya, I've got a wahine at the beach.

The transformation of Live Sail Die

April 1st, 2007

This was part of LSD’s 2007 April Fool’s joke. To see what you missed, check out the full details here.

LSD has been up and running now in the sailing news world for close to 16 months and over this time we have collected a large amount of statistics on our users.

More extreme pictures coming soon!

It became apparent early on that 85% of the yachting fraternity were more interested in reading about Lasers than any other class. This statistic is based on our worldwide reader numbers since December 2005, matched against search data on the site.

In receiving this date we here at LSD realised it was evident that a change was due in what we delivered to our audience.

With this we are pleased to announce the office launch of Live Sail Laser, a website specifically targeted to Lasers and everything you could possibly imagine with regards to lasers.

Forthcoming articles include:

- How to strap a banana to your mast with only telltale wool
- How to kick the excess water out of the hull with your eyes closed
- Why sanding against the grain gives better gravitational pull
- How to transform your laser from a 4.7 to a remote controlled boat by simply changing the bottom section
- Powerade, the new Beer

Exclusive interviews with:

- The guy who invented the ball bearings in the unique laser blocks
- The guy who transformed a surfboard into the worlds largest class
- The guy who races every week at this local club but never wins a race
- The girl who had a sex change to race in the full rig division
- The guy who designed the laser logo

Learn important factors about your boat:

- Why it’s important to have a liveable trailer
- Understanding why you lose friends when changing to the laser class

So hold on Laser fans! Live Sail Die is OUT, Live Sail Laser is IN!

Banned!

In a stunning move that we just got word of late last night, the ORC, ISAF and USSA have announced that they are unilaterally banning boats with canting keels in any race sanctioned by them. There is no word from any of our sources as to what some of the other governing bodies may wish to do, but this ban will be effective June 1, 2007. This news of course will rock the world of big boat sailing, but we suppose it comes because of incidents pictured above. At any rate, Wow....
